Explorer, PreK3, and PreK4 AM students have the opportunity to participate in our after-school Academy program. Our Academy program extends a child's day by two hours. This program will promote the joy of learning through discovery and play. Our Academy classes will provide opportunities to develop your child’s language, science, math, and problem-solving skills through sensory play, art, experiments, cooking, and gross motor games!
*Note for Explorer Academy - Students will need to bring a nap mat for an optional rest period during Academy and also a lunch. Pizza Monday program cannot be offered to our Explorer students.
Academy is offered 4 days a week, and families may choose as many or as few days as desired. Academy is offered in two sessions, August-December and January-May.

What is Academy?
Academy is an after-school program for our Explorer, PreK3, and PreK4 AM students on the days that they attend The Day School.
When is Academy?
Academy is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:45-1:45
Who is Academy for?
Academy is a good fit for students who can easily transition to a new room with different teachers and a new group of friends. It is also a good fit for those who have the stamina to extend their day by two hours.
What do students do in Academy?
Academy includes time for lunch, time on the playground, and time in the classroom doing art, cooking, literacy, fine and gross motor practice, and more!
How do I sign my child up for Academy?
Classes are first come first serve and typically fill up quickly, with a waitlist.
*Sign ups for the Spring semester will be sent out at the beginning of December.
What days can I sign up for?
You are welcome to sign up for as few or as many days that works for your family. However, Academy is not a stand alone program and you may only sign up for days that your child is already attending school. For example, if your child is a Monday-Thursday student, they are not able to attend Friday Academy.
Who will be in my child's class?
An Academy class will consist of up to 14 students with 2 teachers. Students and teachers in the Academy class may differ from your child's morning class. Explorer students will be in different classes than Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 students.
